In all the hectic schedules we face, it can be great to pack up and head for the mountains, throwing caution to the wind. In my mind, I always tell myself that doing anything outdoors makes it healthy. Sadly, this is not always the case when you camp. Best of intentions can fall to the ground, but a good action plan can change that for me. Let me share my game plan with you and perhaps it can help you in your trips, as well.
What to Pack to Camp…
I always remember to pack my road trip candy and my favorite hoodie when I camp. But I have to go through the list of any potential challenges I’ll face. Here are mine, to get your mind running, but think of what you might have to worry about:
- Protein source. Granted, I’m not exactly hitting up the gym when I camp, but I’m also not getting in all my regular snacks. Giles and I are packing some protein bars and these amazing protein chips to help get us a little closer to the mark.
- Active wear. I try to bring whatever I could need for the typical camping activities, so that if the moment strikes, I’ll be ready. This means I grab my hiking boots, hoodie (the aforementioned favorite that looks like it was run over), gym clothes, a headband and a baseball cap.
- Sweat gear. Yup, I sweat like a dude. Forgetting to wear deodorant can ruin a perfectly good day for me. So, I have to bring the deodorant, some extra shirts for when I sweat through them… And don’t forget to bring water!
