I’m a holistic wellness enthusiast working on becoming a better person in every area of my life. This can only mean one thing– work. Hitting up the gym for an awesome booty. Studying to give myself a mental sweat. Trying to reform my spiritual ideology. No one could ever be on social media without knowing that the majority of people out there are after the exact same things. We wouldn’t all be spending time on social media if we already knew how to get what we want. We’re all facing the same obstacles. The reek of testosterone at the gym. The literal and metaphorical mirrors reflecting every awkward motion we make (that never look like the YouTube videos). Ultimately, feeling a billion miles from that awesome person we’re all hoping we’ll become when it’s all said and done.
Cookies
I have a large tuxedo cat named Cookies ‘n’ Cream. And when I say “large”, I mean he weighs 25 lbs. (before you go and judge me, we got him that way from a shelter). He seems so content with his large self and lounging around eating the majority of the day. It’s almost envious. Until you look at the effort it takes just to scratch an ear—he literally props himself against something so he can swing his leg up and scratch his ear. As much as I would love his life, I don’t want to be the Cookie of the human species: content with where I am, yet not where I want to be.
The Journey
The goal of my journey is not perfection. I‘m not trying to be skinny or Mother Theresa or a genius. I‘m not a Bible scholar or an expert on multiple topics. I just want to be the best version of myself possible. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, relationally, academically, vocationally… you get the idea.
I invite you to join me on my journey. Following my attempts, I’ll share with you the laughable moments, the difficulties people never share, my successes (and how you can duplicate them), and little snippets I find along the way. Anything to help spur both myself and you towards our best selves. Most importantly, I will try to be genuine in everything I share.
Meanwhile, feel free to share my posts, and, of course, comment, so that this might be a conversation starter for the two of us. Specifically, ask questions, make suggestions, or just share your thoughts on any posts. I want to help each of you, but I also know that many of you know more than me on a great number of topics, so feel free to initiate any discussions with me.
