Yes, I know that men and women read that title and nodded their head out of relatability. The men perhaps only did so in their heads. A hormone imbalance can come in and ruin our routine. It distracts, even when we are working on an important project. It makes those team projects that much more difficult. And I’m sure I’m not the only who feels slightly physically uncomfortable. I’m certainly not the type to encourage anyone to be anti-medication– when it comes to hormones, take whatever they offer! But, when possible, I try to use natural remedies to alleviate the issues. Lately, I have begun to rely heavily on essential oils for my hormone imbalance. Admittedly, I am not a ‘bath person’– the idea of sitting there and getting nothing accomplished irks me. But, I have learned that a detox bath can remedy many ailments, and they are easily adapted.
Hormone Imbalance Detox Bath
While these are becoming more widely used, I had some difficulty in finding detox baths targeting hormone imbalances through the use of essential oils. Essential oils can be used in a few ways to help hormones. Looking at the vast array of essential oils for hormones, it can feel overwhelming to decide which ones to use for your specific hormonal problems. Mary Vance, a holistic nutritionist and wellness coach, has done a great job of outlining all the essential oils for hormones, as well as their specific use. You can make your detox bath to target the specifics of what you go through, and just tailor a basic bath ‘recipe’:
Basic Detox Bath Recipe
- Epsom Salt, 1/4 cup
- Apple Vinegar, 1/4 cup
- Baking Soda, 1/4 cup
- Himalayan Salt, 1/5 cup
- Essential Oils (totaling approximately 10-ish drops)
My Hormone Imbalance Bath
- Clary Sage, 5 drops
- Lavender, 3 drops
- Stress Away, 3 drops
These are to mostly help with the ‘mood imbalances’ (the female wording when hormones makes us legally insane). The bath helped so much that I have begun to stockpile on other potential oils to use (thyme and bergamot arrived today!).
If you still need to add to your oil cabinet, I suggest that you sign up as a Young Living Member. I do it for the discount alone, so if you would like to sign up or if you have ANY questions, I would recommend my sponsor, Rhiannon White. I had so many questions when I first started using oils and she either had the answer, or found it for me.
